FACIAL 101

Facials are a great ways to keep your skin glowing and looking fabulous, Although they can be VERY pricey. So, I have decided to research & try some facial techniques that are cheap & simple.

For All Skin Types

Brighten: Cut a slice of ripe papaya and remove the seeds and pulp (save the pulp for a snack later—it’s great for digestion). Rub the inside of the papaya peel on your cleansed face, focusing on lines around the mouth and eyes, crow’s feet, thinning temples, neck and hands. Let it dry for 15 to 20 minutes, then rinse with tepid water. This mask can be done twice a week. The enzymes in papaya exfoliate, repair sun damage, diminish age spots and smooth skin. Your skin will look much brighter.

Exfoliate: Combine 1 tsp honey and 1 tsp olive oil. Separately, prepare a packet of plain oatmeal, using less water than called for so it forms a thick paste. Next, add the honey and olive oil mixture to the cooked oatmeal. Apply as a scrub, gently rubbing it in small circles over your skin, avoiding the eye area. Rinse off with warm water and pat dry. This mask can be done twice weekly. The oatmeal in this scrub exfoliates, while the honey and olive oil moisturize.

Cleanse: “Believe it or not, I love to cleanse with oil,” says Argenti. For this facial, she combines 1 Tbsp plain Greek yogurt with 2 tsp olive oil and 1/2 tsp lemon oil (not to be confused with lemon juice; lemon oil is an essential oil that can be found at health food stores). The mixture should be a little bit runny but not easily poured out. Massage it over skin, then immediately wipe it off with a washcloth soaked in tepid water. This can be done daily. .You want to use good-quality oil and you’ll be surprised at how clean your skin will feel.

For Oily or Blemished Proned Skin

Lift & Tighten: Combine 2 Tbsp plain yogurt with 1 Tbsp fresh lemon juice (the juice of one lemon) and apply to your cleansed face and neck. Let it dry for 20 to 30 minutes. You’ll feel the mask tighten on your face and neck, which creates a lifting and firming effect. Leave it on longer (up to one hour) for even more face-lifting effects. Once done, rinse with tepid water followed by a cool rinse. This mask can be done two to three times a week or whenever you need a face lift. This instant face-lifting mask helps fade age-spots, acne scars and even helps keep blemishes and acne in check. It also gets rid of uneven-looking skin tone.

Tone: This toning eye treatment helps to de-puff, relax, refresh and energize your skin. It’s much more cooling than the traditional cucumber slices. After cleansing your skin, brew a cup of chamomile or green tea and allow it to cool. Then soak two clean, round makeup sponges in the tea and squeeze out any excess liquid. Place one on each of your eyes for 15 minutes. Do this daily. You need to use an alcohol-free toner on your skin to cleanse and tighten pores. Alcohol is very detrimental, and tea works just as well.

For Dry Skin

Soothe: Combine 2 Tbsp honey with 1 Tbsp apple cider vinegar or lemon juice. Apply to your clean face and leave on for 20 minutes. Rinse with tepid water followed by a cool rinse. This can be done three times a week. This mask heals, moisturizes and balances the pH of the skin. Honey is a humectant and natural antibiotic that heals and moisturizes. Apple cider vinegar helps balance the pH of skin and soothes damaged skin.

Brighten: Combine 2 Tbsp sour cream with 2 Tbsp honey and 1 Tbsp apple cider vinegar or lemon juice. Apply to your cleansed face and leave on for 20 minutes. Rinse with tepid water followed by a cool (not cold) rinse. This mask can be done twice a week. This mask heals, exfoliates, brightens and moisturizes skin. It refines pores, fades acne marks and prevents blemishes from coming up.

Moisturize:  Grind 1 Tbsp oatmeal in a blender and set aside. Add 1 Tbsp fennel seeds to 1/2 cup boiling water to make a tea. Allow the seeds to steep for 10 minutes; strain the seeds and discard. Let it cool down to room temperature and then combine 1 Tbsp of the fennel tea with 1 Tbsp ground oatmeal and 1 Tbsp honey. Apply the mixture to your clean face and leave on for 20 minutes. Rinse with tepid water followed by a cool rinse. This mask can be done twice weekly.

Remedies for Oily Hair.

I WISH that I was just one of those girls who could wake up everyday, wash their face, put on their clothes and head out the door. Sadly that is NOT the case. I have Oily hair that must be washed everyday. I am going to give you a few tips on how to fix this problem.

                                      OILY HAIR

Always Always Always Remember NEVER PUT CONDITIONER ON THE TOP OF YOUR HEAD, start the conditioning process from the top of your ears and work your way down. You will notice a HUGE difference.

For During the day when you have either been sweating or running your fingers through your hair I would recommend a Dry Shampoo. Dry Shampoos are good for many reasons. You can use it in the morning if your running late ( unless your like me, I dont care if I am an hour late I will still shower before leaving)
or you can wash your hair and right after blow drying go ahead and spray it in ( this is something I have been teaching my little sister to do).

There are MANY types of Dry Shampoos out there. So to narrow down your search I am going to tell you what and what NOT to buy.

Tresemme Fresh Start may only cost $5.00 but let me tell you, you get what you pay for. This product leaves a THICK white coat of crud in your hair that you will completely have to shower to get rid of, Not to mention its sticky feeling.

Not Your Mother's Clean Freak is an AWESOME product, its made with all natural ingredients, smells great and gets the job done. this will run you about $6.00

Rockaholic Dirty Secret Dry Shampoo just so happens to be one of my favorites. It smells GREAT, dosent leave any residue behind, and not to mention it also acts as a Heat Protectant. However is does cost a little more it may Run you around $10.00 or if you order directly from the website about $15.00 But its def worth the few extra bucks.

If a Dry Shampoo isn't exactly your cup of tea. Then do what I do when i forget to buy it. Use Hairspray.

When I say use "hairspray" im not talking about your typical White Rain, I am talking about Not Your Mother's Shes A Tease. This is my absolute FAVORITE product in the entire world. Its made from Apple Blossoms & Bamboo. It gives you a firm hold, yet it lets your hair breathe ( meaning its not stiff and you can actually run your fingers through it). It also protects against humidity. This product will run you about $11.00.

When all else fails, just sprinkle some baby powder on your hairbrush and comb through your hair until all the white is gone. This works perfectly fine & I have had to do this from time to time.

Well I hope you enjoyed this topic. Remember all of these products can be found at WAL*MART. If you have any questions dont be afraid to ask. Please remember to leave feedback, Click on my adds && Check back everyday for new post.

HAIR CARE.

Living in South  Alabama I know everyone goes to the beach, swims in a pool, hates the humidity and 95% of you dye your hair....If your anything like me , I know that you hate the sticky dry feeling that the salt and chlorine does to your hair, especially if your hair is colored. Well I have a couple of ideas to keep your hair looking HOT.

The first product im going to tell you about just so happens to be my favorite. It is Full Hair Repair Conditioner by John Frieda . Containing Inca Inchi, a lightweight micro-oil rich in omega-3, this formula repairs the look and feel of overworked hair and adds body for full, flowing styles. Detangles strands, reducing the risk of breaking and snagging while combing or brushing. Also for those of you that constantly have split or damaged ends you should try Deep Infusion also by John Frieda. It Smoothes and protects medium-textured hair damaged from high heat. This also contains Inca Inchi , feels like it absorbs into worn-torn strands instead of just coating the surface. Weightlessly reverses the look and feel of damage on lengths and ends to leave hair smooth, shiny and full of body. Helps protect against breakage from heat styling. Lastly try Touch Up, John Frieda. Crystal-clear formula with Inca Inchi Oil weightlessly smoothes flyaways and frayed ends to keep full-bodied styles perfectly polished. Ideal for on-the-go touch-ups and boosting shine.

After Washing my Hair with John Frieda Full Hair Repair I like to spray a little Hyper Hydration Super Keratin Spray by Sally Hershberger. This product Restores and revitalizes hair making it soft and shiny. It also tames frizz, static and fly-aways for a much smoother healthier look. I use this product religiously. It is also one of my favorites, not to mention it smells great!

All of these products can be found at Wal*Mart
All of the John Frieda Products are under $9
  Hydration Super Keratin Spray: $4.25

Lets make your days easier

Tis the Season for BACK TO SCHOOL, when you have time for nothing and it seems as if all your days are running together. Below I have listed some Hair, Makeup and  EVEN a quick yet tasteful dinner recipe to make your life a little less stressful. I will also list prices at the bottom of this blog.

HAIRSTYLES && MAKEFUP: Do you ever have days when  you have class ( or work or the kids need to be at school) in 30 minutes and you still have to take a shower, fix your hair and do your makeup? I have a solution for that, Follow my steps and you will be Super-Model ready and still on time!
         1. When you get out of the shower spray your hair with BEACH BABE texturizing sea salt spray. It gives you the same wavy/ curly effect that the ocean does. This Product works on curly and straight hair.

        2. Apply Revlon Photoready Powder, ( it has the same effect as if you were using foundation, you just feel less oily). As for your eyes, Apply One Sweep Eyeshadow. This product gives you make-up artist approved eyes in less than 15 seconds.
Next just put on your eyeliner, mascara and gloss and head out the door.

DINNER: The last thing you want to do at the end of the busy day is make dinner. Well My solution to that is to throw on a roast the night before or as soon as you get up in the morning and let it cook on low all day or night.

1. Put a roast in your crock-pot and pour 1 can of coke over it- this will not effect the taste of the roast it will just help to tenderize it.
2. Put in your preferred vegetables. I like to use small red potatoes with the skin left on them just cut them up and throw them in, Carrots- but a bag of regular sized carrots ( they are cheaper and better for your family) cut them up and throw them in as well. Lastly I like to use a red onion for the sweeter taste.
3. Stir in 1-package of McCormicks Savory Pot Roast seasoning. Add a little salt and pepper and let it cook.

I hope my ideas help make your day a little bit easier. Check back everyday for more time saving advice && dont forget to click on the ads on my page!!!
